Windsor triathlete Lionel Sanders takes first place at Ironman

World-class professional triathlete Lionel Sanders of Windsor was again at the top of his field at the Ironman 70.3 event in Augusta, Georgia, on Sunday. His time: 3:42:19.

It?s another big win for Windsor?s world-class triathlete Lionel Sanders.

The Harrow-raised racer emerged the overall winner at the Ironman 70.3 event in Augusta, Georgia, on Sunday.

Sanders? time of 3:42:19 was the best out of the 1,684 competitors in the male category.

?Great course, fast race, and hot!? Sanders told his Instagram followers.

Although Sanders has scored top times in other Ironman events in his career, Sunday?s Ironman event was only his second race since returning to competition after dealing with a stress fracture earlier this year.
